Ring-Ring

Hello!  Welcome to Applejack Lane for the last Silver Sunday of the season.  I am happy to have participated in this and that it will become a monthly event. Today, I want to share my napkin ring collection.  Napkin rings are easy to find and do not take that much space to display. Mine edge the shelves in a corner cupboard in the living room. Most are sterling although some are silver plated and pewter. It is interesting to me to examine the intricate designs and monogramming on them.  Some of the script is so elaborate that I cannot tell what letters they represent.  If I turn some of them upside down, I can see totally different initials.

Here are some of my favorites mounded in what else but a silver Revere bowl...
A mosaic with my very favorite in the middle...

Weight Watchers-VBF #1

It's a snowy morning here at Applejack Lane!  With so much WHITE stuff coming out of the skies,  the idea of Vintage Black Friday  on the first Friday of the month just caught my fancy this morning.. So with great haste, here is a weighty subject.

My MIL bought this scale at an auction well before I knew here.  I like to use it in the kitchen and fill the scoop with fruit or seasonal items.
The weights laid out all in a row...

After doing some research, I believe the weight marked with a "1" is not original to the set. I also believe there should be a "2"...
The base is marked Reading Hardware Co. Reading, PA 168.  This scale was probably produced around the 1880's...
All stacked up...
A brass scoop...

An ABC Mosaic.

I recently shared some "silver" ABC plates that I had collected.  Today, I have a mosaic of glass, ironstone, and china plates in my collection.  Two are identical except for color.  One has a missing letter of the alphabet. I have shown the detail of one plate because there are actually two alphabets going around the edge-the second being the hand alphabet.  Most of these plates are English, one is marked Germany, and one is stamped France.

Snow, Snow, Snow!

We had about eight inches of snow here at Applejack Lane on Saturday. As I looked out the window, my gazing ball seemed to be wearing a snow  hat!
Have a wonderful Blue Monday!
