A Ladies' Celebration

This week at Applejack Lane, my friends and I celebrated  Ann who retired from teaching earlier this month.  Her favorite color is blue so I added a little touch of the 4th of July in the mix.

A table set for four lifelong friends...

A change of service for a dessert course...

A salad fork, iced teaspoon, and ice cream fork was all that was needed for our luncheon repast...

The silver is Fontaine by International Silver.  This is my favorite piece-an ice cream fork to eat our lime sorbet...

'Twas The Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas  in the keeping room at Applejack Lane...

We are setting up for soup and salad with everyone enjoying a different plate and matching mug.  We have  Mr. Santa, Mrs. Santa, Mr.Snowman, and Mr. Penguin.

 

We have a little festive tree...

All in all, a cozy table for a simple and quiet evening...

Nothing Fancy

It's Tablescape Thursday at Applejack Lane, and today is nothing fancy-just everyday dishes that I have had since I got married 38 years ago.  My dad gave me these Bittersweet octagonal dishes as a wedding gift.  I have not used them in many years.

By adding a few things of the season...

The centerpiece is daughter's art project that went awry, but I love it just the same...

The silverware with straight lines was a gift from my brother so many years ago...

As I said, nothing fancy, but I am thankful for the gifts from the family and the memories they evoke...

Tablescape Thursday-'Hoos Cookin'?

It's another Tablescape Thursday hosted by Susan
at Between Naps on the Porch. Today, I want to take you to my niece's home for a Game Day Tablescape. She and her family are avid UVA fans. For several Christmases, my family gave her dishes in her school colors along with some very special table pieces to use for Wahoo entertaining. Under some very strict time constraints-someone needed to take a nap-we put together 'Hoos Cookin'?





UVA's school colors are...............Orange and Blue!

Let's celebrate our touchdown with a piece of Lindt chocolate to complete our game day repast...
