My Scottish ancestors had two sons who left Scotland and settled in County Tyrone, Ireland  in 1674..  They married, had issue, and on or about 1702, crossed from Ireland to America where they settled in Pennsylvania and later Augusta County, Virginia.  Does that make me Irish or am I Scottish once removed?

Or am I full of Blarney???

A Blue Monday Wreath

Hello from Applejack Lane. For Blue Monday,  I want to share a wreath with blue and white porcelain ornaments that I collected a very long time ago. These ornaments are so very fragile that they remind me of Moravian cookies!  I have broken a few over the years.  This wreath hangs in our bedroom.

March Silver Sunday

It's Silver Sunday at Applejack Lane.  Usually, I show you nicely polished silver pieces, but today I am really stretching it with my collection of tin lunch pails and buckets. These were the forerunners of the modern day lunch box for school children and day laborers of yesteryear.

Blue Monday

Saturday morning, he arrived at Applejack Lane!  I had been waiting for over a week.  Brenda from The Rusty Thimble e-mailed me and said he was on his way. And then the mailman came up the lane and stopped in our driveway.  My husband brought in a box.
"What do you think this is?  he asked.
"Oh, it's here!"  I exclaimed.

Vintage Black Friday-Silhouettes

Greetings from Applejack Lane!  Today is the first Friday of the month;  therefore, it must be Vintage Black Friday.  Today, I am sharing a pair of silhouette pictures of my husband made sixty years ago. I think that probably qualifies him and the pictures as vintage.

An Egg-stravaganza For Tabletop Tuesday

Applejack Lane has been snowed under for over two months now.  This weekend, I pulled out some Spring decor.  I always put this dough bowl on the dining room table with my collection of Victorian blown glass eggs.  It's a very simple eggs-travaganza! 

All kinds of blown and painted eggs... 

Some are embossed; some are plain...

All are egg-tra special.

Applejack Lane wants to congratulate Cousin Ben for winning his division in the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby held over the weekend.  Ben is a hard working student in the third grade and has been a member of his Cub Scout Troop for several years now.  He is also getting ready for his Spring competitive swim season.  We are very proud of all his efforts.  Go, Ben!
