It's another Outdoor Wednesday at Applejack Lane, and I thought I would take you to the middle school where I taught before I retired five years ago.
Outside, my classroom window, I could see these dancing paper dolls. This is a metal sculpture created by local metal artist Willie Ferguson.
Why are they dancing?
School started today for all the teachers in our county, and the children will be coming back next week!
I'm dancing, too! I don't have to go back any more!
Visit Susan at A Southern Daydreamer for more participants in Outdoor Wednesday.

Great sculpture and I love the flowers too.
That is just the cutest thing to see each day when arriving at school:)

What a cute before school post as well as an outdoor. Have a great week.
Now retired after teaching elementary school for 30 years, I too am dancing in the flowers! Life is good!
Thanks for sharing the photos!

How cute is that? I love it, and the kids must think they belong to the "best" school around.
Happy Retirement Joan

These little kids are perfect to welcome children at school.. Love the graphism of them.
Have a nice day
I worked in the pub. sch. setting, off and on, for 20 years....and while I miss the kiddos, I don't miss the rest of it! I'm joining you in that "happy dance"! Love the sculpture...and I'm certain the children at that school do, too. Happy Wednesday! Dana
A very fun sculpture! The black eyed susans look great with it!

Nice post!
The sculpture is just wonderful. Thanks for sharing it with us. I hope you are having a great day.
I love this sculpture! It just makes me happy to look at it.
That sculpture is wonderful! I wish there was one in front of the school where I work because it really is happy!
Happy Outdoor Wednesday!

Looks like a great place to work. Congratulations on retiring!
Very Cute, and I would be dancing too if I was retired. Oh, I am retired. I know just how you feel. BIG SMILE.. The children paper dolls are very sweet. Are they made from tin?
Hugs...Jeanne
That is a great sculpture - school doesn't start in public schools in MN until the Tues after Labor Day so I am always surprised to hear other areas of the country starting so early.
I just love that sculpture! What a perfect work of art for an elementary school. It's such a happy piece. Happy Outdoor Wednesday, Kathy
Cool sculpture! You captured it beautifully!
