On the Second Day of Christmas

Sunday night we gathered at the Cobb's house for a little after Christmas get together. Stuart was ready for a lot of monkeying around that night.

He and Dave played with cars...

Tom and Paw Paw Jim have to have some fun, too...

While lazy Guy relaxes in the big chair with  his Blue Mountain beer...

Beth and Cathy just pose for a picture...

Beth had some great food for us to taste...

Some farewell entertainment by Stuart...

Now it's time to say goodbye to all our family...

Thanks For the Panini Grill, Pete!

Cathy's friend Pete gave us a panini grill for Christmas.

Add  ham, swiss cheese, roasted red pepper on Italian bread and voila'...

One hot panini...

And one hungry Guy...

Thanks, Pete!

'Twas The Night Before Christmas

It's time for one last Tablescape Thursday on this Christmas Eve.    Thanks to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for hosting this event on such a busy day!  Please check out her blog for other participants for this occasion.

'Twas the night before Christmas  in the keeping room at Applejack Lane...

We are setting up for soup and salad with everyone enjoying a different plate and matching mug.  We have  Mr. Santa, Mrs. Santa, Mr.Snowman, and Mr. Penguin.

We have a little festive tree...

  Decorated with miniature ornaments...

A Santa takeout box filled with candies and a lottery  scratch ticket...

Colorful striped napkins made by Rachel's Quilt Patch and snowflake napkin rings...

All in all, a cozy table for a simple and quiet evening...

Merry Christmas to all,

And to all a good night!

Vintage Christmas Monday III

Applejack Lane is joining Joan at Anything Goes Here for Vintage Chirstmas Monday.  I have enjoyed this party for the past few weeks, and I hope she will continue the idea again at some point.  Thank you, Joan!

I have a small collection of lead animals made in Germany that I have either inherited or bought through the years.  So today, I want to share my stag or reindeer as I refer to it this time of the year.  This was made at the turn of the century and is marked Germany on his underside..

Thanks for dropping by Applejack LaneMerry Christmas!

Doors of Welcome

Today Applejack Lane is joining Karen at Some Days are Diamonds for the Doors of Welcome party.
Greetings!  Welcome to Applejack Lane!

A Santa flag blows in the wind...

To the side door we go where everyone enters...

Decorated with gingerbread cookies...

Hubby's childhood sled...
Candles in the windows...

Burning brightly through the evening..
At last to the front door and a topiary tree saved from my mother's decorations...

Merry Christmas from Applejack Lane!

Deck the Halls, Part III-The Living Room

.
Today, Applejack Lane is joining  Susan at Thoughts From Over the Rainbow  for Deck the Halls.  We'll head into the living room today.

Here is my Santa banister with Santas that were special gifts or purchases...

One year our Frazier fir fell down not once, but twice, breaking a lot of ornaments.  After decorating the tree three different times that year,  I took the tree down before it could fall a third time, and just decorated the banister with all my Santas from the tree.   I've been doing the Santa banister ever since...

A choir of carolers on the piano...

Even the kitties can join this choir...

A courtly pair of Carolers in red...

Vintage ornaments, a Christmas advertising plate from 1908, and a Caroling shopper on the washstand...

Father Kristmas on his rocking chair....

Mrs. Santa Bear...

And the slim tree...

A homemade Santa ornament from our first Christmas 38 years ago...

A Santa moon...

And a pillow for Santa to rest his head...

Thank you for stopping by Applejack Lane today..
Merry Christmas!
