Last week we had a little hailstorm at Applejack Lane. I told my brother I would send him pictures. The National Weather Service made a random call to our house to see if we could verify the report the agency put across the weather channel trailer. Yep, they were very accurate with the location and size of the hailstones. They asked us to send them pictures, too!
A stone next to a quarter...
When Mr. W came home two hours later, he asked what in the world had I put around the shrubs.

Wow! That hail is huge! It must have been scary when it fell.
Hail can be so fascinating...and so destructive. Two summers ago, we had a hail storm that lasted more than twenty minutes, and they were literally the size of base balls. Almost every home in our city had to have a new roof....it was unbelievable! The trees all looked like they had been napalmed, and we had broken windows and so much more. I pray that is a once in a lifetime happening, and I've already had mine! Cherry Kay
