Tablescape Thursday-'Hoos Cookin'?

It's another Tablescape Thursday hosted by Susan
at Between Naps on the Porch. Today, I want to take you to my niece's home for a Game Day Tablescape. She and her family are avid UVA fans. For several Christmases, my family gave her dishes in her school colors along with some very special table pieces to use for Wahoo entertaining. Under some very strict time constraints-someone needed to take a nap-we put together 'Hoos Cookin'?

UVA's
school colors are...............Orange and Blue!

All solid colored plates are Fiesta Ware...

An orange salad plate...

and a complimentary one in blue...

Some fun hand painted dinner plates by Magnolia Lane who makes collegiate patterns of all kinds...

Tervis
Tumblers are great for game day festivities at home or at a tailgate...

at every UVA game, the subject of Virginia Tech arises...
Even the smallest snowman can play on this table...

A hand painted serving dish from Magnolia Lane awaits game day goodies...

Pom-poms are handy to cheer our team to V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!

Orange napkins with a plaid blue and orange table cloth...

Let's change things up a little for a table for two...

Fun martini glasses...

What's a UVA game without a martini or two?

The crowd roars! A touchdown?

The Wahoos are ready to sing The Good Old Song! That good old song of Wah-hoo-wah, we'll sing it o'er and o'er.
It cheers our hearts and warms our blood to hear them shout and roar.
We come to old Virginia, where all is bright and gay.
Let's all join hand and give a yell for dear old UVA.
Wah-hoo-wah, wah-hoo-wah, Uni-v, Virginia,
Hoo, rah, ray, hoo, rah, ray
Ray, ray, UVA!

Let's celebrate our touchdown with a piece of Lindt chocolate to complete our game day repast...

So, back to our original question-'Hoos cookin'?
Why, it's this little Wahoo-great nephew Stuart!

Visit Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for more Tablescape Thursday participants.

A sad footnote-UVA lost its season opener this past weekend. My husband thought I should have come up with a different tablescape for the week. But what does he know! There's always next week!

How fun to cheer your team on with a terrific 'scape like this! You have inspired me to start thinking about doing one too...only it would be for the NHL hockey team we cheer for (Vancouver Canucks!)

I love themes (see my post today) and this is a great one. Good luck this year to your team!

Too cute! One of our local churches has a fundraiser each year called "Festival of Tables". Each person or group sponsors a table and decorates it in with any theme they would like. Tickets are sold for each place at your table for a meal to be served by a local caterer. It's amazing to see all the different tables!
