Blue Lustre for Blue Monday

Welcome to another Blue Monday here at Applejack Lane. If you have been following me for any length of time, you may have figured out that I like to collect antiques. Today, I want to share a blue lustre shaving mug that belonged to my great grandfather who lived from 1848-1912 in Highland County, Virginia.

On the front, there is a handpainted sprig...
an opening for the brush...
the bowl to hold the soap with drainage holes...
and a view from the back.
Thanks for visiting me today. Stop by Smiling Sally for more Blue Monday participants.

Thanks for sharing this unique shaving mug. My family in the past used them, but nothing as pretty as this one. A real keeper.

What a pretty piece of ceramic! I would never have guessed that it was a shaving mug. Lovely shades of blue.
